Last week we started school. Summers have never been so short. When I was a kid they seemed to last forever but as an adult who hates waking up at 6am they fly bye. I guess that's a sign I'm getting old(er). I can't complain too much cause I do like our schedule of being off every six weeks. Momma needs that break!
Anyway, hard to believe Bailey is in the 3rd grade and Jesse started 1st. Wow. And next year Jack will be joining them! Did I say I was getting old(er). :)
We have a blueberry patch 5 minutes from our house and so this year I decided we would go pick us some blueberries. So off we went with a couple of friends. The Berry Patch gives you buckets and then you pick as many as you want. Jesse and Bailey did pretty good gathering but Jack didn't care too much for it. He played with some friends that went with us while we did all the work. Anyway, we picked 1 3/4 lbs. and I made lots of blueberry muffins and a blueberry pie. They were yummy. So yummy that we went back the next week with some more friends and picked 2 lbs of blueberries! I froze most of those to have throughout the year! So let me know next year and for a small fee I will pick you some! :)
We had a great day celebrating with family in TN this year. Bailey and Jesse got to spend the whole week with grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. Jack still a little too little stayed home with mom and dad. The fireworks show to end the day was the best! Thankful for our freedom!
I need to blog about these two days because this was Jesse's first day of Kindergarten and last day! He was so excited to go to school with his big sister. He wasn't scared at all. He loved school and so glad to have Ms. Hunter again. And it is hard to believe how much he grew this year!
Last year was our 10th anniversary! I know and I'm just now blogging about it! We decided to do something fun and different. We flew to Seattle spent a few days and then rented a car and drove down the coast to Los Angeles. It was beautiful! A little chilly which I was not expecting in July (yes our anniversary is in November but we celebrated early to have good weather). We loved stopping in little towns and seeing the country. It was just gorgeous on the coast. 10 days was not nearly enough time but we had to fit it in. We also got to see some good friends from our time in Istanbul and that was really nice to catch up and see them in a different setting. Anyway, hard to believe it has been ten years. Blessed and thankful to be on the journey together!
